Anteloup at Oxjam Beeston Takeover 2018

Anteloup will, once again, be playing the Oxjam Beeston Takeover - and the band can't wait!

"We always look forward to Oxjam," said frontman, Luis. "The venues are always buzzing and everyone's really geared up for a night of cracking live music from a whole host of artists, performing all genres of music."

The band are also really pleased with the venue and slot for this year.

"The Star is a great place to play and has some really good bands and artists performing there all year round. We had a slot there with Oxjam some years ago, so we're really pleased to be going back for another go. Also, as we're on at 7.20pm, we've got time afterwards to have a beer and check out some of the other bands and artists. It's great to see what's out there at the moment."

And any new songs?

"We've got a couple of new songs that have only been gigged once before each, but this will be their first Oxjam airing."

As mentioned above, the boys will be on at The Star Inn at 7.20pm.

Anteloup play The Maze

Anteloup played the popular Nottingham venue 'The Maze' on Tuesday 26th June, as part of the Notts In A Nutshell night, which aims to showcase new bands in the area. There were 4 bands on that night; 'Wreck', 'Blank Youth', 'Anteloup' and 'The Crazy Peace Of Mind.'

While the other bands were more of a rock genre, Anteloup's set seemd to be the busiest, drawing more of a crowd (albeit of a particular age) and getting excellent responses for each song.

The band also debuted a brand new song, Little By Little, which got a fantasic response and has since been promoted to the band's forthcoming EP.

Check out the pictures of the gig in the Photos section and be sure to follow the band on Twitter and Facebook for details of upcoming gigs and other band news.

Anteloup Busk Off 2018

Busk Off 2018

Anteloup were really proud to take part in the Nottingham Busk Off Festival 2018 this year. Although Dave and Pat were not available for the event, they were there in spirit (actually, Pat was also there in person..) and the whole band re-worked some of their more popular numbers to work as acoustic-based, providing a set that could be played with the minimum of instrumentation, but still deliver the inimitable Anteloup sound.

Gary provided a rock-steady keys rhythm that kept everything in time, while Pete pulled off some pretty impressive guitar majesty on a borrowed acoustic.

"All I really had to do was turn up and sing!" Laughed Luis. "We were a little apprehensive at first, as we're definitely a 5-piece and really missed having Pat and Dave with us, but after the first song we got into the flow and just went for it. It was a great day, and a fantastic experience."

Anteloup will be playing The Maze, Nottingham on 26th June 2018, but check out the pictures from the Busk Off on the Photos page.

GIG NEWS!

Luis, Pete and Gary will be taking part in the Busk Off festival in Nottingham on 5th May 2018. Pat and Dave are out of town, but the guys still decided to put a special acoustic-style gig together, with some nice variations on some of the band's more established numbers.

The festival starts at 1pm, with Anteloup taking to the stage at 3.45pm.

GIG NEWS!

Anteloup are again gracing The White Lion in Beeston on Friday 3rd December. No cover charge - just great music, drink and Sergio's fantastic Portuguese tapas!

Not only that, they will be supported by local duo The McConnell Brothers, bringing their inimitable guitar/banjo led approach to both cover and original songs.

So, be sure to be at The White Lion from 8.30pm on Friday 3rd December!

Oxjam Beeston Takeover - 2017

Anteloup had a corking time at the Oxjam Beeston Takeover this year, bringing their unique style to The Crown Inn, Beeston.

Enjoying an earlier, daytime slot, the outdoor area soon filled up as the band kicked off with old favourite "A Little Bit Like Kiss Me," along with the inspirational "Today," as well as new song "It's A Shame." Some brand new material was also aired; the dreamy "New Morning" and re-worked "Nothing Stays The Same" both being well-received by ever-growing crowd.

The band always enjoy Oxjam and are happy to play at whatever time best suits the organisers. They were especially happy this year, as the early slot meant they could enjoy the rest of the music on offer. As well as a pint or two..!

Set List (Almost) Confirmed

The band are really gearing up for the Oxjam Beeston Takeover on 14th October, and have been re-working and drilling the set-list, but not without a little bit of head-scratching....

"We're a bit torn between 'Jodie' and 'We've All Been There' as a finale," explains Luis. "We really want a diverse set, that shows the range of our material, while also ensuring we hit at least one genre that everyone will like. Both Jodie and We've All Been There are more rocky numbers, with great endings that ensure we finish with a bang. Jodie is really popular and gets a great response, but we've also re-worked We've All Been There, which now has a lot more dynamic to it and a smasher of an ending. We're already committed to the other songs, so can only do one or the other. We're running them both in our practice sessions, but still can't decide which..."

It seems that the only way we'll find out what the decision is is to head along to The Crown, Beeston on the 14th October and watch the gig!

The band have confirmed the following, just to whet our appetites: Today, It's A Shame, New Morning, Nothing Stays The Same, Frozen Turkey...... Watch this space for further set list details.
